About Infrastructure
SOCOTEC's Infrastructure team delivers essential technical services that ensure the safety, quality and compliance of major construction and civil engineering projects across the UK. We provide independent construction materials testing to verify strength, durability and performance of key materials; foundations and pile testing to confirm ground stability; specialist structures and pavements assessment and analysis; and integrated geotechnical and structural monitoring that delivers real time data throughout project lifecycles. Our experts use industry leading methods and advanced technology to support infrastructure projects from initial site investigation through construction and long term performance, helping clients manage risk, meet regulatory standards and build safer, more resilient assets.
Job Description
You will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic team of staff delivering ground investigation and geotechnical services to our wide ranging client base across the UK. SOCOTEC work in a wide variety of sectors including major infrastructure for highways and rail, nuclear new build, onshore and offshore energy and environmental.
- Effectively support the business by undertaking site monitoring and office based data entry as instructed by the GI Project Manager.
- Assist with planning the monitoring programme to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and in line with the specification requirements.
- Be able to work independently to complete monitoring work as required.
- Have a minimum level of fitness required to undertake all site based tasks listed above on a variety of sites including active construction sites, sites with difficult access and linear projects for roads and railways.
Qualifications
- Awareness and ability to implement Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Computer literate and competent in use of MS Office to create spreadsheets and documents for effective reporting, communication and record keeping.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Mobility, flexibility and commitment.
