We're offering a fantastic opportunity to join our expanding team as a Trainee Asbestos Analyst. This is your chance to build a rewarding career in the environmental safety sector, where your work helps protect people's health and improve building safety. As part of our dedicated team, you'll play a key role in identifying and monitoring asbestos in buildings, helping to create safer spaces across the UK. This entry-level role suits someone enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to learn in a hands-on environment.
Go through an intensive 3-month site and office-based training program. During this time, you'll learn everything you need to know about asbestos air monitoring - this means understanding how to test the air in buildings to check for asbestos particles and ensure it's safe for people to be there.
- Check the level of airborne fibres before starting any work.
- Test for leaks while work is happening to make sure safety measures are working.
- Carry out air testing after the work to confirm it's safe to remove safety controls and use the area again.
- Report any health and safety concerns to the client and stop work right away if needed.
- Put together a final report with all project details, including waste documents, for the building's safety file.
Qualifications
To be a successful Trainee Asbestos Analyst you should be able to demonstrate:
- You'll be a team player with the ability to work independently as you gain confidence in asbestos air monitoring.
- An interest in working in varied site environments is important, as you'll regularly travel to different locations to carry out air monitoring.
- A keen eye for detail and an interest in analytical work - particularly using microscopes is valuable, as you'll be trained to examine air samples for asbestos fibres.
- Strong time management and organisational skills are essential to manage site schedules, complete reports accurately, and meet client deadlines.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal are important for reporting findings and working with clients and colleagues.
- A full manual UK driving licence is required, as this role involves regular travel to client sites across the region.
