This role offers exposure to a broad range of hardware and software technologies from multiple suppliers, with a strong focus on integrating these into robust, end-to-end monitoring solutions. You will progressively develop hands-on expertise in designing, building, and troubleshooting systems both in the laboratory and on live project sites.

  • Support the design, specification, and deployment of monitoring systems across multiple projects
  • Integrate hardware and software from various suppliers into cohesive system architectures
  • Assist with the build, configuration, and commissioning of systems in both lab and field environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and system-level issues to ensure reliable performance
  • Support the maintenance and optimisation of online data platforms, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery to clients
  • Collaborate closely with site teams, project managers, and commercial teams to deliver solutions across the full project lifecycle

Background or experience in electrical systems engineering (academic or industry-based) is required. Basic programming capability (e.g. scripting or embedded systems knowledge) is advantageous. Comfortable working both hands-on in the field and analytically in a technical environment.

This role offers significant career development potential. With a strong pipeline of major projects requiring complex monitoring solutions, you will have the opportunity to progress towards a Senior Electrical / Systems Engineer role. Full training will be provided on Datum's systems and equipment, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a dynamic and expanding business.

Qualifications

Background or experience in electrical systems engineering (academic or industry-based) is necessary. A mix of site and project experience and capability is preferable. Understanding of project commercials is necessary (with a desire to build capability and knowledge in this area).
