Emissions Monitoring Technician

We're looking for a dedicated Emissions Monitoring Technician to join our Environment & Safety Air & Emissions division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Emissions Monitoring Technician to join our Environment & Safety team. In this role, you'll need the confidence to support MCERTS and UKAS-accredited emissions testing activities while working safely on client sites. An interest in environmental monitoring is essential to thrive in this position.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering accurate, technically competent emissions testing and reporting services to a wide range of clients
- Working safely at all times, following the company's Integrated Management System policies and procedures
- Supporting the Team Leader with the maintenance, servicing, and UKAS-traceable calibration of specialist emissions monitoring equipment in line with ISO 17025 standards
- Assisting with on-site MCERTS & UKAS-accredited emissions testing activities at industrial facilities and regulated client sites
- Conducting site-specific risk assessments following training, ensuring safe and compliant operations
- Working both independently and collaboratively to achieve company and client performance targets and KPIs
Qualifications
To be a successful Emissions Monitoring Technician, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Ideally a scientific or similar background
- Full driving licence
- General awareness of Environmental Legislation and the requirement for industrial emissions testing
- Ability to work well under pressure with a focus on deadlines
- Be comfortable working at heights
- Proficient IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft software
