We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Analyst to join our Environmental Science Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are looking for a reliable, flexible and motivated Analyst to join our Advanced Chemistry & Research team. As a member of our team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as working well as part of a wider team. While you may be performing the same array of tests day to day, the projects you undertake and the locations you are working from will constantly change, meaning no two days will be the same.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
- Preparing and analysing samples without supervision to the required productivity and in line with Standard Operating Procedures after receiving full training
- Operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation within the department including troubleshooting any issues
- Maintaining good laboratory practice at all times, following methods, standard operating procedures, local rules and regulations, maintaining equipment and safe working procedures
- Interpreting data, preparing and sending customer reports
- Being aware of and conforming to the Laboratory Quality system, specifically UKAS (ISO17025) and MCERTS requirements
- Projecting a professional, courteous image and supporting the business culture and codes of practice at all times
- Good communication at all levels with good organisational skills
- Experience of Chemistry laboratory procedures, principles and methods
- Problem solving abilities, and the ability to make sound decisions
- Client focus and a drive for quality

We specialise in the testing and analysis of air samples, marine sediments, and non-routine and bespoke sample matrices. We have a long history of developing specialised methods to meet customers' requirements, operating from state-of-the-art laboratories holding fully comprehensive ISO17025 and MCERTS accreditations.
