Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician – East Kilbride (Willingness to travel)
Are you passionate about air quality and the environment? SOCOTEC is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician to join our UKAS-accredited Air & Emissions Team.
In this field-based role, you’ll support our experts in measuring and analysing industrial emissions, helping businesses comply with environmental regulations and protect air quality. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects, working at the forefront of environmental monitoring.

What You\’ll Be Doing
- Providing high quality MCERTS and UKAS accredited stack emissions testing
- Working on diverse industrial sites including power plants, factories, and manufacturing facilities
- Using specialised equipment to collect and analyse emissions samples
- Working outdoors and in industrial settings as part of a supportive team
- Helping businesses ensure they\\\’re operating within environmental regulations
- Learning technical skills that are highly valued in the environmental protection sector
No Prior Experience? No Problem!
- Full training provided – we\\\’ll teach you everything you need to know about environmental testing
- Learn to use specialised MCERTS environmental monitoring equipment
- Gain valuable certifications paid for by SOCOTEC
- Develop expertise in an important environmental protection field
What You\’ll Need
- A full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel and undertake occasional overnight stays
- Comfortable working at height
- Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to work in various industrial environments
- Interest in environmental protection and sustainability
Desirable but not essential
- Any science background or qualification
- Experience working in industrial settings
About Air & Emissions
Our UKAS accredited Air & Emissions Team work throughout the UK conducting industrial emissions testing. A career with Air & Emissions means taking on a variety of projects across a vast range of industries, and rarely working on the same project twice. We perform testing on incinerators, power stations, oil refineries and many more, while also working at heights, underground and even off-shore.
