As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a committed Senior Field Technician to join our Infrastructure Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are looking for a dependable, dedicated and flexible Senior Field Technician to join our UKAS accredited Materials team. As a member of Materials, it is key that you are able to thrive in a team environment, as well as independently. The fundamental part of the role is to determine the physical properties of a wide range of materials including concrete, earthworks, aggregates and bituminous mixtures to ensure compliance with specifications. All testing will be undertaken in line with a range of British, European and American standards so a good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures is required.
Responsibilities
- Sampling and testing of construction materials on site and in the laboratory
- Collection of materials for laboratory testing
- Completion of test sheets, including all calculations
- Liaison with Operations Manager and Section Manager on work schedules
- Production of reports in line with QA systems
- Undertake tasks in line with Company QHSE protocols
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

- Responsible attitude towards equipment and vehicle maintenance
- Previous experience of site/laboratory testing of concrete, soils, aggregates, and bituminous materials would be advantageous

Our Materials Testing team perform an extensive range of testing and compliance services across a wide range of construction projects including highways, rail, airfields, ports and harbours, power stations, sports stadia in addition to new build projects across Industrial, Commercial and Residential properties.
