As SOCOTEC continues to expand, we’re looking for a reliable and committed Asbestos Surveyor to join our Environment & Safety Division.
We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team. In this role, you’ll be key in surveying buildings, collecting samples, and identifying asbestos‑containing materials to help ensure the safety of workplaces and communities. Your expertise will support projects across a wide range of sectors, including defence, rail, roads, power stations, retail, heritage, and service industries—giving you the chance to make a real impact every day.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
- Undertaking asbestos surveys, recording site data, and submitting reports on time
- Maintaining equipment, ensuring cleanliness, calibration, and proper records
- Liaising with clients, project managers, and colleagues to deliver projects to agreed timescales
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures and quality standards
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Must hold BOHS P402 qualifications (or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Surveying)
- Industry experience essential with proven track record of conducting a similar role
- Hold a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent in the use of IT software, in particular mobile applications used for survey data collection
- Good client‑facing skills – confident in liaising with contractors, project managers, and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/report writing
- Time management and ability to meet project deadlines
