Are you interested in a career in Materials testing? We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Laboratory Technician to join our Infrastructure division. As a Trainee Laboratory Technician, you’ll be supporting our experts with the testing and monitoring of building foundations at the forefront of a variety of projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised area, aid professional progression, and get stuck in with some exciting projects across the UK in a hands-on learning environment. The role requires working away from home with overnight stays. This opportunity is a great way to kick start your career with SOCOTEC, gaining vital knowledge and real life experience. We act with integrity, providing you with support and guidance at every stage during your early career.
Responsibilities
- Sampling and testing of construction materials on site and in the laboratory
- Collection of materials for laboratory testing
- Completion of test sheets, including all calculations
- Liaison with Laboratory Manager and Senior Technicians on delivery of your work schedule
- Production of reports in line with QA systems
- Undertake tasks in line with Company QHSE protocols
- Calibrate test equipment to conform to internal QA & UKAS standards

About Materials Testing
Our Materials Testing team perform an extensive range of testing and compliance services across a wide range of construction projects including highways, rail, airfields, ports and harbours, power stations, sports stadia in addition to new build projects across Industrial, Commercial and Residential properties. A career within our Materials Testing business will provide a varied workload with experiences across many of the key UK Infrastructure assets leaving you with the satisfaction that you have played a part in ensuring the built world around us is safe and stable.
