Join our team as a Quantity Surveyor at SOCOTEC UK & Ireland. We are looking for a dedicated professional to support both commercial quantity surveying and dispute resolution across a diverse range of public and private projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality quantity surveying services to clients
- Establish client requirements for cost planning and cost estimating
- Develop opinions on procurement strategies
- Prepare draft tender and contract documents, including ITT packs, for review
- Carry out tender appraisals and identify recommendations
- Monitor and record project costs
- Value completed works and arrange payments in accordance with contract
- Prepare budget and progress reports, including experience of cost value reconciliations
- Identify commercial risks and assess cost variations
- Maintain detailed variation and risk register information
- Issue notices in accordance with contract conditions
- Produce draft project and claim reports for review
- Prepare draft final accounts
- Attend and provide input at project meetings
- Keep up to date with industry requirements and developments
Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- 3+ years of quantity surveying experience
- Competent with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong numerical and data analysis skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
- Positive approach to client care and problem solving
- Ability to work alongside Expert Witness and Advisory teams
Desirable
- Working towards membership of the RICS
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
- Experience with CostX software
- Experience in the rail and aviation sectors
