Job Description
We are looking for a proactive, reliable and flexible Associate Director – Facades to lead our façade business unit and play a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC's continued success. The role requires confidence to work independently and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in construction, engineering or consultancy, along with knowledge of building legislation, engineering and safety codes and design guidance, is essential.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the façade business unit: Profits & Losses, Recruitment, Strategy, Commercial
- Provide continuous high‐quality engineering and compliance services including external wall investigations/surveys and associated reports, production of reports and risk assessments (FRAEW, PAS9980, EWS‐1, etc.), and façade design and engineering consultancy
- Identify new work opportunities with clients and other professionals, engage actively with potential clients and prepare / review fee proposal letters
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (fire, façade, structural, civil or similar field) and achievement of Chartership and full membership with a relevant professional body
- At least 8 years' experience in construction, engineering / consultancy and experience in fire safety design on façade systems
- Confident communicator, good customer service skills, self‐motivated, able to prioritise and work on own initiative, and capable of following instructions and working as part of a team
