This role is project-based and requires working away from home with overnight stays. We have a great opportunity for a committed Laboratory Technician to join our Infrastructure Division.
We are looking for a dependable, dedicated and flexible Laboratory Technician to join our UKAS accredited Materials team. As a member of Materials, it is key that you are able to thrive in a team environment, as well as independently. The fundamental part of the role is to determine the physical properties of a wide range of materials including concrete, earthworks, aggregates and bituminous mixtures to ensure compliance with specifications. All testing will be undertaken in line with a range of British, European and American standards so a good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures is required.
Responsibilities:- Sampling and testing of construction materials on site and in the laboratory
- Collection of materials for laboratory testing
- Completion of test sheets, including all calculations
- Liaison with Laboratory Manager and Section Manager on work schedules
- Production of reports in line with QA systems
- Undertake tasks in line with Company QHSE protocols
- Calibrate test equipment to conform to internal QA & UKAS standards

Our Materials Testing team perform an extensive range of testing and compliance services across a wide range of construction projects including highways, rail, airfields, ports and harbours, power stations, sports stadia in addition to new build projects across Industrial, Commercial and Residential properties.
