Job Description

An entry-level support role within the Technical Services team, working under the guidance of the Senior Technical Services Officer. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training in creating classifications, extended field of application reports and hardware performance sheets to assess the performance of construction products against designated standards.

The Role

  • Assist in compiling classifications and extended field of application reports to the appropriate standards for construction products, with full training provided.
  • Support customer/client relationships by learning to understand their product ranges and testing requirements through scope analysis and test planning.
  • Provide basic technical assistance to customers/clients regarding their testing and classification requirements (remote or in person), under supervision.
  • Learn about construction products including doors, walls, floors, service installations, linear joint seals, fire resistant glass and glazing systems, and smoke control dampers, with a view to developing expertise over time.
  • Assist with reviewing technical documentation for Technical Services and Fire Resistance, developing accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow laboratory procedures in accordance with company internal requirements, ensuring the highest health and safety standards at all times.
  • Interact, coordinate, and communicate with all staff to support customer commitments.
  • Participate in team activities and contribute to innovative solutions as skills develop.
  • Undertake any other duties in line with the role as training progresses.

Qualifications

A degree/HNC level qualification (physics, engineering or other relevant scientific discipline) OR A-level/equivalent qualifications with demonstrable interest in technical/scientific fields.

Additional Information

It is useful if you have a full driving licence due to location of site.
