Junior Land Surveyor Level 1 in Coventry

Based in Coventry, we are seeking a motivated Junior Land Surveyor to join our team. This is a site‑based role from our Midlands office in Coventry, with occasional visits to offices in Leeds, Sevenoaks, and Altrincham as required.

The Role

We are seeking a Junior Land Surveyor to support the delivery of land surveying services across Coventry and other UK locations. The role will involve:

• Assisting survey teams on site with topographical and measured building surveys
• Collecting accurate site data
• Supporting the preparation of land survey outputs

The ideal candidate will have some previous exposure to land surveying or related fieldwork and demonstrate a strong willingness to develop technical skills and knowledge within a professional surveying environment. You must be willing to work away from home and/or carry out night work when required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with topographical, measured building, and utility surveys under supervision
• Supporting investigative surveys and ensuring accurate completion of field documentation
• Working closely with Lead Surveyors, contractors, clients, and internal teams to facilitate smooth survey operations
• Helping to collate and process survey data for reporting and CAD submission
• Carrying out basic quality checks and assisting in verifying survey completeness and accuracy
• Learning to review survey drawings and supporting deliverables before client issue
• Receiving structured on‑the‑job training and mentoring to develop practical surveying skills
• Providing support to Project Managers and wider survey teams as required, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism

What We're Looking For

• Some experience or exposure to land surveying, topographical or measured building surveys, or other site‑based surveying work
• Basic understanding of surveying equipment such as Total Stations or GPS, with on‑the‑job training provided to develop practical skills
• Willingness to learn, develop technical surveying skills, and progress towards completing surveys independently under guidance
• Ability to work safely and effectively across a variety of site environments
• Flexible approach to working hours to meet project requirements
• Full UK manual driving licence
• CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

• Experience using CAD software and basic Microsoft Office skills
• Awareness of survey standards and protocols
• Relevant vocational or academic qualifications (e.g., Surveying‑related certificates or NVQ)
• Any additional safety or site‑based training (e.g., SSSTS) is a plus but not essential

Travel and Flexibility

Travel across the UK is common, particularly in the North and Midlands. Candidates must be open to working away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.
