Our Environment & Safety team provides expert environmental, health and safety consultancy and compliance services, helping organisations manage risk, protect people and safeguard the environment.

Are you interested in occupational health and in making environments safer? We’re offering a fantastic opportunity to join our expanding team as a Trainee Asbestos Analyst. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience in identifying and monitoring asbestos in buildings across the UK. You’ll work with prestigious clients across Defence, infrastructure, service, retail and heritage. Upon completion you’ll receive a P403 qualification issued by the British Occupational Hygiene Society.

Responsibilities

  • Complete an intensive 3‑month site and office‑based training program on asbestos air monitoring.
  • Check airborne fibre levels before work starts.
  • Test for leaks during work to ensure safety measures are effective.
  • Carry out air testing after work to confirm it’s safe to remove safety controls and use the area again.
  • Report any health and safety concerns to the client and stop work if needed.
  • Produce a final report with all project details, including waste documents, for the building’s safety file.

Qualifications

  • Team player able to work independently as you gain confidence in asbestos air monitoring.
  • Interest in varied site environments and willingness to travel to different client sites.
  • Keen eye for detail and interest in analytical work, especially using microscopes, to examine air samples for asbestos fibres.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to manage site schedules, complete reports accurately, and meet client deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and working with clients and colleagues.
  • Full manual UK driving licence.
