QUALITY CONTROLLER – Nationwide. Are you interested in quality control for asbestos and committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance?

We are looking for a motivated Quality Controller to join our Quality Team, supporting the delivery and continual improvement of our Quality Management Systems. This role will involve conducting staff witness audits for accredited activities, leading improvements through survey and clearance rechecks, supporting the delivery of internal and external quality schemes, and assisting with refresher training and onboarding of new starters. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in maintaining and raising standards within a highly regulated and important field.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Take responsibility for the implementation and completion of staff witness audits for accredited activities
  • Lead the improvement in quality standards by undertaking survey rechecks and 4-stage clearance rechecks
  • Provide support on the implementation of monthly IQC schemes, external proficiency schemes, and refresher training to individuals as required
  • Support the on-boarding of new starters
  • Ensure UKAS accreditation is maintained
  • Continually improve the quality of the services that SOCOTEC delivers to clients

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum P402/P403/P404 supported by 5 years site experience
  • Comprehensive site experience in surveying, air monitoring and 4 Stage Clearance activities to enable the upskilling of staff in the surveying or air monitoring activities
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of MS office systems to enable improvements in the recording and tracking of quality systems
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

About Asbestos

The SOCOTEC Asbestos team holds UKAS accreditation for both Inspection and Testing and is one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the UK. We provide all aspects of asbestos consultancy services, ensuring clients are better equipped to comply with current legislation. These services include surveying, lab analysis of samples, managing removal projects on the clients’ behalf, consultancy, policy reviews, and action plans and training. We operate out of six offices covering all areas of the UK, and assist more than 300 clients on a variety of projects, from offices to military bases to hospitals. The work our Asbestos team does is vital in preventing workers from exposure to asbestos fibres, and that all of our clients operate within the asbestos regulations, and wider health and safety framework.
