As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Principal Engineer or Geologist to join our Infrastructure Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are looking for a proactive, reliable and flexible Principal to join our Geotechnical team. As a Principal, you will oversee multiple in field projects, supervise a team of engineers on site and manage ground investigation projects. Experience with project management and knowledge of the industry are important in order to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities- Act as Technical Manager for large scale ground investigation projects both on land and overwater
- Supervision / mentoring of soil and rock logging in accordance with the specification and BS5930:2015
- Supervision / mentoring of others performing in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with the specification and current technical standards
- Promoting within the workforce accurate recording of data generated from field tasks, providing feedback to individuals where required
- Checking and issuing factual reports and AGS data to the client
- Carry out mentoring, task specific training and present training courses to the junior staff
- Conduct quality investigations when a non-conformance is observed. Report findings back to the Operations Manager, the project team and the client
- Complete technical audits on site and report findings to the Project Manager and Operations Manager
- Write and issue technical memos for the staff as either a lessons learned or technical education document
- Confident and knowledgeable of various ground investigation techniques on both land and overwater
- Assist the Project & Operations Manager in managing the continued technical and professional development of staff
- Support the Project Managers in maintaining high standards of service and in producing high quality reports and borehole records
- Put the client at the centre of all decisions that are made
- Support colleagues in achieving for the client
- Treat internal clients with the same respect as external clients
