To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Environment and Safety Division. SOCOTEC provides a comprehensive range of environmental monitoring and consultancy services to help companies fulfil their legal obligations and comply with environmental regulations. Our expert field teams provide national coverage and tailored services including site investigation, sampling and analysis, monitoring, interpretation and consultancy.

We’re looking for an Environmental Field Team Leader to lead an enthusiastic team of Technicians and Technologists, in both Environmental and Water Hygiene, to a wide range of clients across Scotland. This is an experienced level position and as such, relevant experience is required.

Your challenge will include:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the Environmental Field Team, ensuring high levels of customer service and efficient and effective management.
  • Carry out tasks and prioritise workload to ensure that the customers’ requirements are met, in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Overview the scheduling and performance of Environmental Field Team activity to ensure work is completed efficiently and reports delivered within key performance indicators.
  • Where necessary act as a key client / framework customer contact to ensure the smooth running of a SOCOTEC group contract.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in the Environmental Sector.
  • Working knowledge of the rail infrastructure.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with a focus on deadlines.
  • High customer service ethic.

About Environmental: Our Environmental team is made up of many different specialists all operating within different areas of expertise. The main areas we cover are Environmental Monitoring and Consultancy, and Occupational Hygiene, together with specialist laboratories to support our services. Our services range from on-site monitoring and sample collection, ranging from local businesses to large Government contracts, to consultancy works on large contaminated land projects, complemented with onsite works for dust, noise, and local exhaust emissions. We pride ourselves in our ability to consult, monitor and test for our clients, supporting all their needs in one place, using our highly trained employees.
