This role will cover the Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield and Scotland offices. To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Building and Real Estate Division. SOCOTEC is the market-leading independent provider of Building Control, and we pride ourselves on being the experts and leading authority on building control within the industry.

With a significant portfolio, from small specialist projects to some of the largest opportunities in the country, the team works alongside global leading designers, Project Managers, developers and clients including social media and tech giants, world leading financial and legal firms and government bodies. Key Responsibilities Include
  • Strategic Leadership & Business Management: Develop and implement Building Control policies and business plans; Achieve financial targets through effective income generation and cost control; Participate in board meetings and follow up on actions; Ensure financial compliance, tax obligations and appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Technical & Operational Management: Assign projects to appropriate RBI registrations and ensure RBCA compliance; Implement quality management systems; Oversee building regulations approval services; Follow recommendations from process and file audits; Comply with safety, diversity, risk management and continuity requirements.
  • People Management: Drive team performance toward KPI achievement; Conduct appraisals and address performance issues; Optimise team resources, scheduling and expenses; Support training programs for Graduates and Apprentices; Foster a culture of safety and wellbeing.
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Manage client interactions and prepare quotations; Represent SOCOTEC at high-profile meetings; Communicate organisational vision; Build relationships with key industry partners; Handle compliance and implement process improvements.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • The ability to build relationships with clients and deliver excellent client care.
  • A self-starting attitude and an ability to work independently as well as part of a large project team.
  • Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, development of suitable solutions and the implementation of these solutions.
  • Membership of RICS, CABE or equivalent (or qualified by suitable experience) ensuring CPD requirements are met thereafter to broaden and develop skills.
  • Ideally demonstrating compliance through registering as an RBI Level 2F, 3G/3H.
