Join SOCOTEC UK & Ireland as a Principal Engineer or Geologist in our Infrastructure Division, overseeing ground investigation projects and leading a team of engineers.
Responsibilities
- Act as Technical Manager for large-scale ground investigation projects on land and overwater.
- Supervise and mentor soil and rock logging in accordance with specifications and BS5930:2015.
- Oversee in-situ testing and sampling following technical standards.
- Ensure accurate recording of field data and provide feedback to staff.
- Issue factual reports and AGS data to clients.
- Deliver mentoring, task-specific training, and present training courses to junior staff.
- Conduct quality investigations for non-conformance, reporting findings to Operations Manager, project team, and clients.
- Complete technical audits on site and report findings to Project Manager and Operations Manager.
- Write and issue technical memos for staff as lessons learned or technical education documents.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ground investigation techniques on land and overwater.
- Experience supporting Project & Operations Managers in staff development.
- Ability to maintain high standards of service and produce high-quality reports and borehole records.
- Client-focused decision making with a commitment to client needs.
- Collaborative support for colleagues in achieving client outcomes.
