Analyst – Forensic Expert Witness (London, England, United Kingdom)
SOCOTEC UK & Ireland invites applications for a dedicated Analyst to join our Advisory Division. The role supports forensic expert witness work, contributing to claims, contract administration, and project analysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist in running small‑scale projects or specific components of larger projects under senior supervision.
- Conduct initial analysis and review of construction project records and documentation.
- Support senior staff in evaluating claims related to loss, disruption, and prolongation.
- Assist in assessing the impact of changes on construction projects.
- Contribute to the analysis of various types of construction claims under guidance.
- Support the review and interpretation of different construction contract suites (JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
- Assist in understanding and applying ADR procedures relevant to expert witness work.
- Draft sections of claim and expert witness reports under senior supervision.
- Organise and analyse construction records and project documentation.
- Prepare supporting materials and exhibits for expert reports.
- Communicate confidently with clients and participate in internal project meetings.
- Maintain accurate time recording, project documentation and support project administration.
- Ensure work output meets quality standards under supervision and seek guidance from senior team members.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and continuously develop understanding of expert witness procedures and methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recently qualified or with relevant experience in construction claims and forensic analysis.
- Understanding of the method of loss (claims) and principles of disruption and prolongation.
- Knowledge of different suites of construction contracts and ADR procedures.
- Familiarity with construction records and the ability to produce draft claim/expert reports.
- Ability to liaise and communicate confidently with project and client teams.
- Productive team member needing limited supervision in various service areas.
