We are seeking to recruit Field Crew Operatives based from our office in Coventry (working throughout the UK). As a Field Crew Operative, you will work with teams on various wastewater and water projects around the UK & Ireland. The Field Crew Operative will be part of a small team installing and maintaining flow monitors, water quality instrumentation and auto‑samplers into sewer pipes and rivers around the UK. The work you do will contribute to improving our environment; you will be helping water companies to manage their sewer networks, and this will help to prevent flooding, reduce pollution and improve the health of rivers and bathing waters.

Your typical day will involve visiting various sites where you will support your Field Crew Leader in setting up safely and then carry out the installation, calibration or removal of our equipment – which is usually located inside a confined space or a river environment. This will include lifting and carrying equipment from the vehicle to the specified site. We provide comprehensive training to ensure you succeed in this role – no prior experience necessary. Our training programme covers equipment operation, safety protocols, confined space procedures, and technical skills development.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Field Operations – Install and retrieve monitoring equipment at client sites
  • Data Collection – Conduct calibrations, collect water samples, and ensure accurate field measurements
  • Quality Assurance – Perform in‑situ equipment calibration and maintain project documentation
  • Safety Compliance – Follow all company procedures and safety protocols
  • Asset Management – Survey client infrastructure and maintain company equipment
  • Professional Development – Participate in training programs and special projects

Travel across the UK is very common. Candidates must be open to working away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Flexibility towards hours and working away from home (accommodation and meals are paid for by the company).
  • A flexible approach to working at night and some infrequent weekend work is crucial.
  • Ability to work well within a team and with a variety of different people, as our teams swap and change.
  • Strong work ethic, positive and can‑do attitude and ability to use your own initiative when faced with problems.
  • Comfortable working around raw sewage and in confined spaces.
  • Clean and valid driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Job Location: Coventry, United Kingdom (working throughout the UK).
