We are looking for a proactive, reliable, and flexible Building Inspector to join our Building Control team. In this role you will:
- Inspect construction sites at various stages to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and review structural, architectural, and mechanical designs.
- Supervise inspection activities, enforce regulatory compliance, and issue formal notices for breaches under the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Prepare detailed compliance documentation, including inspection reports, compliance certificates, and regulatory approval documents.
- Maintain accurate records ensuring traceability and compliance with local authority requirements.
- Provide consultancy services on Building Regulations where SOCOTEC is not acting as the Registered Building Control Approver.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification and regulatory registration at senior level – membership of RICS, CABE or equivalent, or adequate experience; CPD requirements met; registration as a Registered Building Inspector (RBI) at appropriate level (3G/3H).
- Excellent communication and client‑relationship management skills; ability to work effectively with clients and deliver excellent client care.
- Self‑starting problem‑solver with technical expertise; ability to analyse complex issues, develop suitable solutions, implement them effectively, and stay current with building codes and industry best practices.
