We’re supporting a Cambridge-based, highly specialised engineering and manufacturing business who are searching for a Quality Engineer to support product realisation and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on role within a precision environment, focused on ensuring products move efficiently from concept through to production, meeting strict quality and compliance standards.
To be successful in this role you will need to have prior understanding of electronic products within a quality focused role. As part of the Quality team, you’ll take ownership of quality activities across new and existing product programmes and play a key role in maintaining high manufacturing standards, supporting new product introduction (NPI), and driving a culture of continuous improvement within a lean environment.
You'll work closely with engineering and production teams, supporting assembly, inspection, and testing activities, often within cleanroom settings, while ensuring compliance across all stages of manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality across development, prototype, and production phases
- Support assembly, inspection, and testing of precision components
- Drive product and process improvements using data insights
- Manage non-conformances, concessions, and change control
- Create and maintain manufacturing standards and work instructions
- Conduct audits and ensure quality system compliance
- Collaborate across teams to meet delivery and performance targets
Experience in a regulated manufacturing or engineering environment
Knowledge of ISO9001 (ISO27001 beneficial) and relevant regulations (RoHS, REACH)
Strong problem-solving skills (8D, FMEA) with a data-driven approach
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Hands-on mindset with good attention to detail
Confident communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and using Excel or manufacturing systems
