One of our clients is an advanced engineering organisation, now expanding their team and seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to drive growth in RF‑related markets, with a focus on communications, sensing technologies and radar systems. This is a great, high impact role that combines deep technical understanding with commercial leadership, shaping new opportunities far beyond the traditional defence markets. They are at the very forefront of antenna design, high frequency electronics, digital signal processing and embedded systems across a variety of sectors. Experience in this space is essential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in RF, sensing, communications and radar applications
  • Analyse market trends, competitors and emerging technologies
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear customer value propositions
  • Work closely with engineering teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals
  • Lead client engagement, presentations and commercial negotiations
  • Build long term customer relationships
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences and exhibitions

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, physics or a similar technical discipline
  • 10+ years professional experience, including 5+ years in Business Development or consultative technical sales
  • Strong understanding of RF systems, wireless communications, sensing or radar technologies
  • Track record of securing £1m+ annual new business in a B2B environment
  • Strong ability to understand customer technical, strategic and commercial needs
  • Established industry network in relevant markets
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and sales campaign delivery skills
