The company is a leading financial data and analytics company looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer with experience in the development of SaaS applications. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus on the development of their market‑leading SaaS products, which deliver data science and data visualisation for the world’s largest financial datasets. You will technically lead the end‑to‑end delivery of several components within the platform, working closely with the SaaS Product Owner, internal teams, and external customers, whilst leveraging modern AI agent tools and automated workflows to accelerate delivery, champion high engineering standards, and help mentor and support your teammates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve scalable, secure, and reliable microservices powering our core SaaS products, including enterprise solutions across single‑ and multi‑tenant architectures.
- Leverage and champion AI‑powered engineering tools, LLM coding assistants, and automated workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance team productivity.
- Partner closely with the Product Owner to translate complex financial data requirements into well‑defined technical solutions, applying a product‑focused mindset and confidently navigating ambiguity.
- Contribute to AWS infrastructure including leveraging CloudWatch Logs for monitoring, diagnostics, and incident support, maintaining operational excellence across services.
- Support the growth of junior and mid‑level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing, helping to continuously raise engineering standards across the team.
Key Requirements
- Degree in computer science or other STEM degree plus relevant programming experience.
- 6+ years of experience programming in Python and working across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, with significant exposure to developing SaaS applications.
- Experience working with AWS and Terraform.
- Experience with AI assisted tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor…) to improve day‑to‑day productivity.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desired, but not essential
- Experience programming with Typescript / React.
- Exposure to semantic search, vector databases, or LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
- Familiarity with high‑scale data tools such as DuckDB, pandas, Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake.
