We're working with a fast-growing software provider that’s expanding its infrastructure and operations team. They’re looking for an experienced Operations Engineer who combines technical ability with strong communication skills and enjoys working directly with clients.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership of infrastructure delivery across both cloud and on-premise environments. You’ll work closely with DevOps teams internally while also acting as a key point of contact for clients, supporting their engineering teams and ensuring smooth deployments and ongoing system reliability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitoring and maintaining cloud and datacentre infrastructure
- Troubleshooting and resolving systems and networking issues
- Deploying software into client cloud and on-prem environments
- Acting as a technical contact for clients and providing guidance during deployment and support phases
- Collaborating with client teams to meet SLAs and deliver great service
- Maintaining deployment documentation for client environments
- Participating in out-of-hours support and scheduled maintenance when required
- Helping to shape the infrastructure roadmap and future planning
What we’re looking for:
- Strong Linux experience, particularly with Ubuntu or Debian, and a solid understanding of Linux networking
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP and deploying scalable infrastructure
- Good knowledge of networking in both cloud and traditional environments
- Familiarity with system and network monitoring tools and practices
- Confident writing scripts to automate workloads and processes
- Experience using configuration management tools to maintain consistency across environments
- Excellent communication skills with experience in customer-facing or client support roles
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies would be a big plus
