A global organisation is looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers supporting a large-scale multi-cloud and infrastructure estate. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine people management with technical oversight, driving platform reliability, automation and continuous improvement across cloud and on-prem environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a distributed team of Platform Engineers.
- Oversee cloud platforms across Azure, AWS and OCI, alongside core infrastructure services.
- Drive automation through Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD best practices.
- Champion the use of AI tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Own monitoring, incident management, backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Deliver resilient, scalable platform services that enable the wider business to operate effectively.
- Work closely with Security, Risk and Compliance teams to ensure strong governance and audit readiness.
- Monitor cloud usage and identify opportunities for optimisation.
About You
- Proven experience leading Infrastructure, Cloud or Platform Engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure and AWS environments.
- Background in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working within regulated or highly controlled environments.
- Strong understanding of operational best practices, including resilience, monitoring and recovery.
- Comfortable influencing stakeholders and driving technical change.
Desirable
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS or OCI).
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations or time zones.
- Exposure to modern Platform Engineering concepts, self-service platforms and developer enablement.
