Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in electronics and global supply chains? Do you enjoy building supplier relationships, driving cost reduction initiatives, and supporting complex manufacturing environments? Would you like to play a key role in shaping sourcing strategy for innovative, life-saving products?

We're working with an advanced technology company developing and manufacturing complex electronic systems. As part of a growing Supply Chain team, you'll take ownership of the electronics procurement strategy, managing suppliers, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring continuity of supply across production and engineering activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of electronic components, PCBAs, and manufacturing processes, and who enjoys influencing both suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver results.

What you'll be doing:
  • Managing procurement of electronic components and assemblies across production and NPI activities
  • Developing and delivering electronics category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and supplier partnerships
  • Leading supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contract management activities
  • Supporting new product introductions and engineering changes through effective sourcing solutions
  • Managing inventory, material flow, and component supply to contract manufacturing partners
  • Driving cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value engineering initiatives across PCBAs and electronic components
  • Monitoring market trends, component availability, and obsolescence risks, implementing mitigation plans where required
  • Owning supplier performance across quality, delivery, capacity, continuity, and cost
  • Managing purchase order coverage, lead times, shortages, and supplier commitments
  • Analysing and reporting supplier and inventory performance metrics
  • Resolving supplier-related issues, including invoice queries, credits, and non-conformances
  • Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams to support business objectives
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations
  • Mentoring Buyers and Planners, providing expertise in electronics commodity management
What we're looking for:
  • Significant experience in procurement, sourcing, or commodity management within an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience managing global suppliers and subcontract manufacturing partners
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCBAs, SMT manufacturing processes, and test requirements
  • Experience developing category strategies and delivering supplier performance improvements
  • Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills
  • Background working within an MRP-driven manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and report data
  • Natural problem-solving ability and a structured approach to decision-making
  • Experience leading projects, influencing teams, and driving change across functions
  • Experience managing component obsolescence and supply chain risk (desirable)
  • Previous mentoring or leadership experience within procurement teams (desirable)
