I am currently recruiting for a market leader in the field of critical communications. Their focus is on providing high quality products to a demanding, mission critical client base, which includes the police, paramedics, sea rescue, major airports, large mining facilities and utilities or oil and gas plants located in hazardous environments.
We are looking for an RF Team Lead who will be responsible for managing the RF Electronics Development Team as well as contributing to development projects as an RF Design Engineer. You will have a proven track record of RF electronics design, experience of leadership and/or mentoring a technical team, enjoy problem solving and be an excellent communicator.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting a team of RF design engineers
- Leading the technical design and specification of baseband circuitry for radio terminal products
- Participating in regular project meetings to review progress, set priorities, and address emerging challenges
- Leading and contributing to design reviews, ensuring RF systems meet performance expectations and regulatory standards
- Collaborating with baseband, software, and audio teams to integrate RF solutions into broader product architectures
- Supporting and guiding mentors as they assist junior engineers on technical topics
- Engaging in project management activities, including updating timelines, managing resources, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure milestones are met
Key Skills Needed:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Significant experience in RF design and development, ideally in telecommunications or critical communications
- Strong understanding of RF systems and technologies, including design, simulation, and test methodologies
- Proven hands-on design experience and practical engineering intuition
- Excellent communication and time management skills, with a track record of delivering high quality work on schedule
This is a full-time, onsite position based out of their North Cambridge office. The site offers substantial parking and is also accessible by shuttle which runs from their office to Cambridge North train station frequently. The position pays up to £90,000 p/a, plus benefits.
