Our client, a prominent innovator in UK defence technology, is offering an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned RF Team Lead to join their forward-thinking and high-achieving engineering group. As the RF Team Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with fellow leads, specialists, and the group head to develop advanced RF solutions for some of the most challenging and high-profile defence initiatives in the UK. Your leadership and technical acumen will be key to ensuring project success, aligning with strict standards and demanding timelines. Key Responsibilities
- Lead key workstreams, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
- Design and deliver sophisticated RF systems covering 30MHz to 30GHz, with practical experience in components like LNAs, high-power amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and modulators.
- Employ advanced tools such as Microwave Office and HFSS for RF and antenna development, ensuring design integrity through to manufacture.
- Provide both technical direction and people leadership, motivating your team toward excellence.
- Manage project deliverables using tools like Excel, MS Project, or Primavera P6 to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.
What You Bring
- Extensive hands-on RF design experience, particularly at the component level, across a broad frequency range.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary radio transceiver technologies, covering digital, analogue, and power systems.
- Understanding of DFM (design for manufacture) and DFT (design for test) principles and related production methods.
- Solid project management capabilities to keep complex tasks aligned and on schedule.
