We're currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation seeking an experienced IT Engineer to provide hands-on support during a busy period of growth and change. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile IT professional who enjoys a varied role, combining day-to-day technical support with the confidence to take ownership of small projects and provide guidance across the wider IT function.

The Role

Working as part of a small IT team, you'll be responsible for supporting users across a Microsoft-based environment while assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the IT infrastructure. You'll act as a reliable point of contact for technical issues, helping to prioritise workloads, maintain systems, and ensure a high level of service across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st, 2nd and some 3rd line technical support to internal users.
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy and user administration.
  • Assist with hardware deployment, software installations and device configuration.
  • Support networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and switching.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer and mobile device issues.
  • Work alongside senior stakeholders to coordinate IT priorities and ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain documentation and follow IT best practices.
  • Assist with ongoing infrastructure improvements and IT projects where required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically capable but also enjoys taking ownership and supporting the wider business. You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Windows Server
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID
  • Windows desktop support
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Backup solutions and endpoint security
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
