We’re recruiting an experienced Contract Frontend UI Software Engineer to support a client in building, extending, and maintaining a modern web platform. This role will suit someone who is comfortable stepping into an existing environment, delivering high-quality UI functionality, and working autonomously within a cross-functional delivery team.
Key responsibilities:- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, QA, and product managers.
- Design, develop, and maintain frontend functionality and services.
- Deliver new features and enhancements across a modern web platform.
- Work with technologies including React, TypeScript, Webpack, REST APIs, JSON, Docker, and Ansible.
- Prototype solutions, analyse requirements, and contribute to technical design.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code aligned with best practices.
- Participate in code and technical design reviews.
- Take ownership of deliverables and contribute independently within the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
- 6+ years of commercial web UI development experience using modern frameworks (React preferred).
- Strong understanding of cross-browser development and responsive design.
- Hands-on experience with Git, version control workflows, and development environment setup.
- Experience integrating with APIs and microservices.
- Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and SAFe.
- Good understanding of QA standards, testing practices, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
