Cloud Platform Lead | SaaS | Azure and AWS | Remote (UK) | £100k Plus Package No Sponsorship Option Required ASAP Are you an experienced cloud leader with a passion for building world class SaaS platforms? We are working with a fast growing and well funded B2B tech company that is transforming its sector through data, advanced analytics, and intuitive web experiences. They are now seeking a Cloud Platform Lead at Principal or Director level to lead the architecture, development, and operation of a next generation multi tenant SaaS platform. This is a hands on leadership position with strategic scope, ideal for someone who loves working with code, Kubernetes, and compliance. Why This Role Stands Out Greenfield opportunity to design and shape a modern SaaS platform from scratch Lead a focused team of three highly skilled engineers (growing to 5 shortly) Operate in a multi cloud setup spanning Azure and AWS with support for edge and on prem deployments Embed SOC 2 Type II compliance from the start Collaborate with top tier engineering and product professionals tackling complex technical challengesWhat You Will Be Doing Define the vision for a secure API first SaaS platform with a rich browser based UI Architect and operate a Kubernetes based microservices stack using Infrastructure as Code GitOps and modern security practices Set and maintain platform reliability goals including SLOs incident response and continuous compliance Design flexible deployment models for on prem and edge use without fragmenting the codebase Partner closely with systems engineers and UX designers to deliver seamless customer outcomes Mentor and grow a high performing engineering team while remaining technically hands on Evaluate and adopt new technologies such as WebAssembly and confidential computing when they add real valueWhat We Are Looking For Seven plus years of hands on experience in DevOps or SRE roles or ten plus years including strategic leadership of production SaaS platforms Deep experience with both Azure and AWS in a production environment Expertise in Kubernetes including AKS EKS containerization and Helm Proven ability to meet and maintain SOC 2 or equivalent compliance Strong background in automation observability and GitOps workflows Comfortable using AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot Cursor or Claude to enhance delivery Bonus if you have experience supporting hybrid or disconnected deployment environments or working with complex scientific or analytics platformsTech Stack You Will Be Using Cloud: Azure including AKS API Management and DevOps Pipelines and AWS including EKS Lambda and CloudFormation Infrastructure as Code and GitOps: Terraform Bicep Pulumi ArgoCD and FluxCD Observability: Prometheus Grafana OpenTelemetry and Datadog Security and Compliance: HashiCorp Vault Azure Key Vault AWS KMS OPA Gatekeeper and Drata or similar AI Coding Tools: GitHub Copilot Cursor Claude Code📩 Interested in exploring this further This is a high impact role in a fast moving scale up where you will shape both the technology and the team.
