Security Officer $17.50 p/hr. Various Openings for 1st Shift

$50 Sign-On Bonus - Active Guard Card & Licensed? Officers who join with an active Guard Card on file will receive a $50 Sign-On Bonus, paid out upon successful completion of 90 days of employment.

  • Gatehouse - Access control; greet and ID residents/guests, log vehicles, announce visitors

Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge and greet all residents and guests in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Manage all guest/visitor access as needed and eject trespassers or violators from premises when deemed necessary
  • Verify credentials of incoming and outgoing individuals/vehicles
  • Document and maintain a log of visitors and notify residents of visitor's arrival
  • Assist in protecting others and equipment while enforcing policies and procedures
  • Monitor and/or detect any suspicious behaviour to assist in the prevention of vandalism, theft and/or other criminal behaviour
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms
  • Patrol the perimeter (interior/exterior) to identify potential safety and security risks
  • Warn violators of infractions e.g., loitering, smoking and/or in possession of prohibited items
  • Respond to calls of distress, alarms and/or emergencies such as fire, injuries or presence of unauthorized individuals by contacting local first responders
  • Identify and report any and all concerns (safety, security breaches, unusual circumstances) in a timely manner
  • Ensure accuracy and timely submission of required documentation (reports/documents)
  • Ensure all rules/regulations are being enforced and followed
  • Other duties to be determined by management

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Valid state licensing required
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritise assigned tasks
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Minimum of one year of security experience
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
  • This position will require occasional crawling, crouching, climbing of stairs, kneeling, running, sitting, standing, stooping and walking for extended periods of time
