The Challenge
We're looking for a Sr. Solutions Engineer (SE) that will report to the Solutions Engineering Manager. In this role, you will drive business development and sales growth by providing technical expertise, competitive positioning, and product evaluation support to prospective customers for the OneTrust Data Privacy Compliance platform.
Your Mission
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor during sales engagements, partnering with customers to understand business challenges and demonstrate how OneTrust solutions help achieve their objectives.
- Lead compelling product demonstrations, workshops, and technical presentations tailored to customer use cases and business outcomes.
- Support sales opportunities through discovery sessions, evaluations, RFP responses, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives to develop technical win strategies and effectively position OneTrust solutions against competitive alternatives.
- Advise customers on solution design, implementation considerations, and best practices throughout the evaluation process.
- Partner with Product, Customer Success, and R&D teams to stay current on product capabilities, roadmap developments, and market trends.
- Build credibility with technical and business stakeholders by translating complex concepts into clear, value-driven outcomes.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the privacy, security, governance, and compliance landscape while helping customers navigate evolving requirements.
You Are
You will have a clear understanding of the privacy industry, including regulatory environment, and will use this knowledge to support all of the primary responsibilities. To thrive in this role, you will keep up with industry trends, competitive landscape and customer needs.
Your experience includes:
- 5-10 years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solution Consulting, or a similar customer-facing pre‑sales role within a SaaS or enterprise software company.
- Expertise selling, configuring, and delivering impactful software demonstrations to technical and executive audiences.
- Experience leading technical evaluations, proof‑of‑concepts (POCs), workshops, and customer discovery engagements.
- Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles through RFPs, technical responses, solution positioning, and competitive differentiation.
- Strong understanding of modern SaaS applications, cloud technologies, and enterprise software architectures.
- Ability to translate customer business challenges into solution‑based recommendations and measurable business outcomes.
- Experience building relationships across multiple stakeholder groups, including business leaders, IT teams, security teams, and executive sponsors.
- Strong communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills with the ability to influence decision‑makers at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and rapidly evolving environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 25%).
Salary Range
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is $127,500—$185,000 USD. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job‑related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
