Overview
This isn’t a click-through test role. We’re looking for a Senior Software Tester who understands code, can build meaningful automated tests, and wants to raise the bar on how quality is embedded across product teams — not bolt it on at the end. You’ll be working front to back across a modern TypeScript stack, testing real user journeys, APIs, and services that matter. Engineers here care about quality, pipelines are clean, and testing is treated as part of delivery — not a safety net.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and maintaining automated test suites that actually protect the platform
- Testing across API and UI, collaborating closely with engineers day-to-day
- Writing clean, maintainable test code in TypeScript
- Contributing to test strategy, coverage, and standards across squads
- Challenging poor practices and helping teams improve how they ship software
Tech you’ll work with:
- TypeScript as the core language
- Playwright + CucumberJS for UI automation
- Jest / CucumberJS for API and integration testing
- k6 for performance testing (nice to have, not essential)
- Exposure to React, Next.js, Tailwind, Material UI
- CI/CD via GitHub Actions — versioned, automated, no nonsense
How the team works:
- You’ll sit in a squad with engineers and another tester
- Part of a wider testing guild — sharing patterns, frameworks, and ideas
- Plenty of autonomy, but strong engineering standards
- Remote-first, with Manchester HQ if you want face time
Why this role:
- Testing is respected and invested in
- Space to influence how quality is done across teams
- Grown-up environment — no babysitting, no box-ticking
- If you want a role where quality actually matters, this one’s worth a look.
