Our client is a brand that is synonymous with the sporting world! This brand has been around for well over a century. Following a recent PE equity acquisition, they are now entering a new period of growth that will have technology at the forefront.
A recent acquisition of a tech brand has fuelled the need for a new technology function. This company is steeped in history in the darts world, and its recent acquisition of a tech firm that develops auto-scoring software means it needs forward-thinking technologists to join the team.
They are now looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to join their founding technology team and build their product from the ground up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, and maintain cloud services and user-facing backend apps in production
- Lead a cross-functional team of 7 to build a highly scalable app.
- Independently scope and lead technical initiatives, laying the groundwork for early-stage products to evolve iteratively
- Contribute to the product roadmap, help set the vision and strategy for the venture, and act as a sounding board for venture leadership
- Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps.
- Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
Why You’re Made For This
- Experience with any popular cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proficient in either Java, Kotlin, NodeJS or Functional Languages (will need to be happy programming in Go)
- Experience developing highly scalable systems and be strong in software and architecture design
- Professional experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Salt, and container orchestration technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience reviewing code to maintain a high standard of code quality across the team
- A self-starter mindset, capable of context-switching between various projects, codebases, and concepts
- A prototype and rapid iteration mentality, using pragmatic delivery methods to have a fast impact and quickly identify the best solution for a problem
