Responsibilities

  • Managing the RCO team’s UK WSB CPLE horizon scanning and regulatory implementation oversight activities and serving as the primary contact for enquiries.
  • Delivering team-specific regulatory developments reviews, impact analyses, communications and implementation responsibilities in accordance with the UK WSB LRCC Terms of Reference and the UK WSB CPLE Regulatory Developments Framework.
  • Collaborating with Legal, CPLE and BU/SU stakeholders.
  • Managing daily regulatory horizon scanning activities related to regulatory rules & guidance, enforcement actions, discussion papers, consultation papers, calls for evidence, letters, market standards and codes, supervisory and policy statements; using sources such as UK regulators, law firms, trade associations and LRCC discussions.
  • Analysing and articulating the impacts and risks of regulatory developments on the UK WSB business models, processes and control frameworks; proposing actions in collaboration with CPLE SMEs and colleagues outside CPLE; preparing read-across analyses and delivering CPLE training on major publications.
  • Presenting regulatory developments analyses to CPLE advisors and committees (e.g., Regulatory Developments Review); managing execution and closure of CPLE-specific regulatory developments.
  • Supporting CPLE and BU/SU stakeholders with regulatory rule interpretations and implementation advice; actively participating in industry working groups and issuing concise, firm-centric reports to impacted stakeholders.
  • Planning and coordinating submissions for quarterly UK WSB Compliance Committee updates; ensuring consistency and avoiding repetition across materials; presenting developments with impacts, risks, concerns, recommendations and next steps.
  • Supporting the development of the annual Mandatory Normative Documentation (MND) Roadmap in response to policy revisions triggered by regulatory developments.
  • Maintaining SMF domain mappings and regulatory framework alignment (SMCR in SGLB) in collaboration with the Head of UK RCO and the ROCG Pillar Lead; aligning with LRCC and LRCC regulatory framework considerations.
  • Maintaining the UK WSB Permissions Governance Framework and coordinating the annual Regulatory Permissions review and attestation process.
  • Administering and overseeing regulatory reporting for SGLB, including oversight of the SGLB List of Regulatory Reports and timely submission of REGDATA reports.
  • Supporting the day-to-day SMCR processes and ensuring data integrity by maintaining accurate employee Certification records and related reconciliations.
  • Representing UK WSB CPLE in committees or other forums as agreed, and providing feedback to the Head of UK RCO and ROCG Pillar Lead on material matters discussed.
  • Supporting the Head of UK RCO and ROCG Pillar Lead in ensuring the above activities for SGIL as part of the UK WSB CPLE organisational model, under the relevant Service Level Agreement.

Required Profile

  • A clear understanding of UK financial services regulation (PRA & FCA) and UK Wholesale Banking business models.
  • A strong regulatory background with experience in policy management, regulatory oversight and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex financial regulation, conduct full impact assessments and communicate practically with stakeholders across all levels.
  • Ability to issue risk-based compliance challenge and provide solutions-oriented advice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Compliance and Business Lines to achieve outcomes.
  • A self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with attention to detail and adaptability.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvements in day-to-day processes, leveraging technology.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with effective Management Information reporting and issue escalation.
  • Legal training or a professional qualification in Compliance, Finance or Accounting is beneficial.
