The trader will be a team member of the FX Options trading desk representing the bank in OTC FX Options Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as market maker for vanilla and semi‑exotic FX options within the FX Options perimeter.
  • Acquire market intelligence and comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Price FX options and execute trades accordingly.
  • Manage the book and hedge risk appropriately.
  • Develop the bank's image and presence in the market through trading volumes.
  • Propose new products in collaboration with financial engineering teams and the sales force.
  • Support sales staff through client pitches and actively contribute to business development.
  • Develop trading strategies.
  • Assist in developing pricing models and specify or develop IT tools such as automation or pricing engines.
  • Manage IT projects and project management activities.
  • Provide pricing in other currency pairs during holidays or sickness.
  • Provide sales desks with trade ideas and currency flows to generate increased sales business.
  • Record all trades in line with procedures.
  • Act on any compliance breach immediately and provide full explanation.
  • Liaise between front and middle office to ensure smooth deal processing.
  • Hierarchically manage permanent staff or trainees.
  • Coordinate business or supervisory activities.
  • Manage the education and career paths of junior team members.
  • Ensure counterparty trades are within credit limits.

Compliance & Conduct

  • Adhere to internal policies, operational and conduct risk requirements, FCA and PRA Code of Conduct rules, and department conduct rules.
  • Manage, control, prepare, and elevate risk within the scope of the position.
  • Remain fully aware of and compliant with all regulatory requirements from regulatory and statutory bodies, trading venues, and other applicable authorities.
  • Escalate conduct‑related issues to appropriate stakeholders or functions internally or externally.
  • Adhere to business line mandates as directed by the manager.

Qualification & Skills

  • Investment banking/financial services industry knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact convincingly with key decision makers across business lines, management, and control functions.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple conflicting priorities and under pressure until completion.
