Responsibilities
- Act as a Corporate Sales person in the UK interest rate derivative team in MARK/FIC/COR London.
- Through regular and direct contact with the clients, combined with in-depth research, identify their hedging requirements.
- Work with others internally, including financial engineers, MRA, Research team, in order to come up with solutions best tailored to their needs, based upon current market conditions.
- Market these solutions, via pitches / calls / in-person meetings.
- Offer full transparency to the client with regards to the appropriate or proposed solution, working with the adequate product specialist if required.
- Ability to execute transactions for all types of interest rate derivatives, whether flow or more structured.
- Back up the marketing efforts of other members of the team, including working on client pitches, and internal documents.
- Liaise with relationship managers, DCM, SG financing products lines, all other necessary SG departments and entities to develop cross selling opportunities and exchange the necessary information.
- At all times maintain complete oversight over KYC requirements for UK clients, and ensure that all regulatory necessities have been fulfilled prior to trading.
- At all times ensure that there are appropriate credit lines in place and trades are being transacted within these limits.
- Ensure that all back/middle office / legal problems are handled efficiently and effectively, working as a conduit between the client and the relevant teams.
Profile required
- Excellent mathematical skills - an ability to understand both complex mathematical concepts, but also perform mental arithmetic quickly and accurately.
- Attention to detail - an ability to work both quickly and accurately.
- Communication skills - ability to interact effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Teamwork - a strong collaborative approach.
- Self-motivation - an ability to take the initiative and act accordingly.
- Analytical skills - able to assimilate significant quantities of information and use this data effectively.
- Flexibility - able to adapt to different circumstances and tailor behaviour accordingly.
- Decision-making - the ability to make complex decisions in short periods of time.
- Ability to work under pressure - particularly when trading the ability to deal well with pressure.
- IT skills - excellent PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills. Preference for coding, although not essential.
