Responsibilities

  • Build and manage DCM client relationships with Financial Institutions target issuers in the Germany, Austria, Switzerland region as well as supporting the DCM team for the Netherlands region.
  • Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets.
  • Represent DCM in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory to the client base.
  • Act as a trainee working directly with Senior Originators and originating teams covering the German, Austrian, Swiss and Dutch fixed income client base.
  • Provide support on the analytical side, presentations, marketing and maintain organization.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the team’s efforts in effectively covering clients to address their borrowing needs in debt capital markets.
  • Regional focus in Germany, Austria, Switzerland (primary) and Netherlands (secondary).
  • Support the team’s efforts in developing and maintaining a track record of winning bond mandates.
  • Contribute to the profitable and visible development of the DCM/FIN business measured by League Table positioning and financial targets defined year to year.
  • Support the effective and responsible execution of bond mandates.
  • Support the execution of transactions fully compliant with internal policies and external regulations, in conjunction with the senior originator.
  • Support the development of advisory and product offering aligning with DCM’s strategy.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and experts to support production of strategic and tailor-made content and solutions to clients.
  • Support the development of the DCM client base aligning with GLBA’s and SG Group’s strategy.
  • Develop business by working with senior team members; focus on engagement and alignment with other departments for new client and product opportunities.
  • Support DCM in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory.
  • Build internal network and stakeholders; assist with writing and developing marketing material.

Required Profile

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of bond markets, dynamics, related instruments, credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant solutions.
  • Capacity to generate consistent pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling and comprehensive.
  • Understanding and management of risks, compliance with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, applicable rules and regulations.

  • Follow up on clients’ needs and priorities consistently and rigorously.

General Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Banking, Finance, Economics or similar field.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills essential.
  • Ability to build Excel models autonomously.
  • Good understanding of bond pricing models and methodology.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and information feeds.
  • Ability to work under time pressure on multiple projects.
  • Commercial and advisory skills.
  • Capacity to cooperate with other business lines.
  • Understanding of clients’ needs and requirements.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Rapid learning ability.
  • Additional language skills in German and/or Dutch advantageous.
