Responsibilities
Description of the Business Line or Department
Distribution and Credit Solutions (DCS) is the unit for the distribution and trading of all financial products created and covered by SG (excluding retail products). DCS works closely with the origination and engineering teams to ensure appropriate products are created for our clients. DCS activity is exclusively focused on clients (corporates, financial institutions, investors etc), and provides the market knowledge to allow our origination and engineering teams to create the products our clients are interested in.
Summary Of The Key Purposes Of The Role
- Assisting traders on day-to-day trading activities: working with traders, sales, middle office, and support functions, to manage current trading positions and source new opportunities
- Reporting on Market activity: Daily PnL analysis, weekly and monthly reporting of desk activity
- Pricing and analysis of ABS and CLO deals
- Helping on specific projects to improve internal tools relative to value analysis and risk management
Summary Of Responsibilities
- Supporting the team by analysing and modeling relevant securities structures
- Supporting client base development in line with Group strategy and priorities
- Monitoring clients active in securitisation across the capital structure
- Developing investor relationships
- Monitoring risk metrics and limits
- Monitoring the impact of new regulation on the Trading desk
- Supporting the team’s efforts to report on Market activity
- Helping with specific projects to improve internal tools, relative value analysis, and risk management
- Collaborating with the Financing team to develop a common approach with clients
- Collaborating with the Leveraged Loans team to strengthen ABP offer
Required Profile
- The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in a Finance-related subject
- Previous experience in a similar role (internship etc.) advantageous
- Ability to understand complex credit structures, their dynamics and the related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives, relevant capital markets products, with a particular focus on asset-backed products, markets, and regulations
- Ability to model exotic credit derivatives in a trading floor environment
- Responsibility – awareness and understanding of risks (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for the Group, and ability to act responsibly in line with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations
- Ability to contribute to the team’s efforts to build and maintain trusted client relationships
- Consistency and rigour in following up on clients’ needs
- Collaborative mindset to help develop business and adapt to client and market needs
- Ability to contribute to the development of new client base, advisory, and products
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
- Excellent level of written and spoken English essential; other European language skills advantageous
