Within the Investment Banking Division of Société Générale, Advisory & Financing Group serves Corporates (mid to large caps), Sponsors (PEs, Infrastructure funds), Family offices, and Financial Institutions across sectors, geographies and rating spectrum. We act as a trusted Corporate Finance Debt partner to support our clients’ sustainable and digital journey.
As Underwriter, we structure responsible financing solutions and ensure certainty of funds for strategic projects such as acquisitions, spin-offs, IPOs, and restructuring. As Financial advisor, we offer capital structure and debt advisory across the rating spectrum and provide access to relevant investors within the equity and debt capital markets. As Credit & ESG Rating Advisor, we offer unrivaled understanding of agencies and reach to their analysts to explain the credit story.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role
- Originate and execute acquisition finance and credit/ESG rating advisory mandates with corporate clients covered out of London.
- Provide integrated debt structuring, capital structure, rating advisory and acquisition finance solutions to key clients of the bank, promoting SG’s offer in loan and capital markets in close cooperation with coverage and corporate finance.
- Represent AFG in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide advisory to our client base.
Responsibilities
- Support the team’s efforts in effective coverage of clients.
- Pitch targeted clients in conjunction with GBIS business lines to originate acquisition finance, credit and ESG rating advisory mandates, and provide guidance on debt structuring, capital structure and rating matters.
- Participate in the preparation and delivery of multi‑products pitches and execution, and assist in the development of structured marketing plans.
- Maintain and expand a track record of mandates.
- Assess feasibility of transactions/mandates, including underwriting and capital commitment, against available resources and profitability metrics.
- Produce and participate in the production of timely and accurate financial models, marketing material, pitches and credit/rating analyses.
- Produce and draft mandates, term sheets and legal documentation in conjunction with external/internal counsel, and negotiate such documents in consultation with senior AFG professionals.
- Ensure effective and responsible execution of mandates, carrying out due diligence when applicable.
- Maintain compliant presentation, credit, rating, underwriting and legal documentation as per prevailing standards and act within agreed credit risk limits.
- Adhere to internal and regulatory procedures, including Chinese walls, insider lists, conflict checks, confidentiality, KYC, MIFID (when relevant) and the SG code of conduct.
- Support the development of advisory and product offerings in line with AFG’s strategy and priorities.
- Deliver solid modelling and financing material and promote the AFG and its acquisition finance/rating advisory franchise to clients and within SG.
- Keep abreast of new market, sector and product developments and leverage them in origination strategies.
- Establish close cooperation between AFG and other GBIS business lines to provide innovative financing and rating solutions and cross‑sell SG’s full product range.
- Report to AFG management and COO on ongoing transactions, exposure management and escalation of problems.
- Provide a full and accurate view of the pipeline to AFG management via appropriate reporting tools.
Profile required
- Gather an understanding of loan and capital markets, M&A, credit ratings, dynamics and related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives, to propose relevant advisory and financing solutions.
- Generate consistent pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs.
- Understand risks (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for AFG, GLBA, and SG Group, and act responsibly in line with SG Group values, code of conduct and other applicable rules and regulations.
