About the team: This is an exciting time to be joining our newly created Distributed Credit Solutions team where we have combined parts of our Investment Banking and Global Markets division to unify capabilities within the credit space enabling an integrated credit chain to de-risk the Bank in primary (Syndication) and secondary (Trading) while pursuing Fund Financing and Securitisation activities for our clients leveraging an incorporated sales team.
Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:
- Make markets in corporate cash bonds to SG internal and external clients.
- Manage the risk and complexity of the SG corporate cash trading books.
- Promote SG credit market making capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop long term relationships with clients based on trust and professionalism.
- Develop SG profile in the market through trading volumes and market presence, enhance individual and team reputation amongst clients as a reliable market maker.
- Further improve SG market share and reputation through professionalism, discipline and attention to risks.
- Provide reliable backup and support as required for other traders within the team.
- Develop and maintain strong relations with internal stakeholders (Sales, Global Finance, Syndicate, Research, Compliance, Middle/Back office, IT, Risk etc.).
- Work in partnership with other teams to communicate market flows, trade ideas and any relevant trading information to support revenue generation.
- Pricing and execution on behalf of SG clients ensuring all procedural guidelines, risk controls and product governance are observed.
- Develop trading strategies and work with sales to develop pricing models as required.
- Review and oversee optimization of capital and leverage costs.
Profile Required:
- Direct experience in a credit trading role with proven market making track record allied to development of client relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact and communicate convincingly at all levels with key decision makers in a variety of business lines, management and control functions across the Bank.
- Proven ability to develop relationships based on trust and professionalism.
- Able to work independently on multiple conflicting priorities and under pressure until completion.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for numbers and attention to detail.
- Solutions focused, service orientated and proactive.
