About the team
IBD//DCM is responsible for addressing borrowers’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets.
The client base for DCM includes financial institutions and corporate borrowers globally.
In terms of debt origination, DCM’s activity covers issuance of bonds of various kinds, including hybrid capital & liability management, ESG and rating advisory. DCM’s activity also covers transaction management advisory.
Summary of Key Purposes of the Role
- Build and manage DCM client relationships with Financial Institutions target issuers in the Netherlands ("NL") and Canada region as well as supporting the global FI DCM team.
- Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets.
- Represent DCM in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in‑class advisory to the client base.
Responsibilities
- Support the team’s efforts in effectively covering clients to address their borrowing needs in debt capital markets.
- Focus regionally on the following geographies: Netherlands and Canada (primary focus) and other European regions (secondary focus).
- Support the team’s efforts in developing and maintaining a track record of winning bond mandates in addressing clients’ borrowing needs.
- Contribute to the profitable and visible development of the DCM/FIN business in the regions mentioned above as measured by League Table positioning and financial targets as defined in objectives from year to year.
- Support the team’s efforts in the effective and responsible execution of bond mandates.
- Ensure the good execution of transactions that fully comply with internal policies and external regulations, in conjunction with the senior originator who is ultimately responsible for the transaction.
- Support the development of advisory and product offering in line with DCM’s strategy and priorities.
- Under the supervision of the manager, engage with key stakeholders and experts (including DCM Solutions & Advisory) to support the production of strategic and tailor‑made content and solutions to clients.
- Support the development of the DCM client base in line with GLBA’s and SG Group’s strategy and priorities.
- Help grow the business by working with senior members of the team, focusing on engagement and alignment with other departments to assess new client and product opportunities that arise from time to time.
- Assist DCM in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best‑in‑class advisory to the client base.
- Build and work with an internal network and stakeholders to write and develop marketing material.
Profile Required
Technical:
- Ability to gather/deepen an understanding of the bond markets, its dynamics and the related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant capital markets solutions.
- Capacity to generate consistent pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs.
- Responsibility – ability to understand risks (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for DCM, GLBA, and SG Group, and ability to act responsibly in line with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations.

- A minimum of two years relevant DCM and/or MARK/FICC experience at junior level, preferably within a FI DCM or Syndicate team.
