Summary of the key purposes of the role:
- Support the Economics team in producing research
- Assist the Economics team in communicating economic analysis and insight to Group clients and front office staff
- Engage pro-actively with the sales team to ensure we are focused on areas most relevant to clients
Summary of responsibilities:
- Assisting in editing economics research
- Assisting in constructing and maintaining databases of economic data
- Assisting in constructing and maintaining economic models
- Contributing analysis to economics research publications
- Editing content on the Group’s economics intranet page
- Developing own understanding and unique economic analyses
- Developing own understanding of the role of economic analysis in financial markets
- Developing strong links with the Sales Force team
- Ensuring own understanding of relevant regulatory regime
Profile required:
- Good understanding of Macroeconomics, Statistics and Econometrics
- Good basic knowledge of financial economics and Microeconomics
- A genuine and demonstrable interest in financial markets
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Ability to work with financial databases
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work to deadlines without close supervision
