We are looking for a Social Media Strategist to join our Social for Good team, starting September 2026.

About the role

At Social for Good, we help purpose-driven organisations amplify and measure their impact through ethical, inclusive, and strategic social media. This is a strategy-led role - you'll work across a varied mix of projects, from influencer campaigns and integrated cross-service campaigns to audits, playbooks, and client workshops. You’ll work with a variety of charity and purpose-driven clients, helping them achieve impact through brilliant social media strategies and campaigns, informed by research, audits, and workshops. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team that values innovation, learning, and people-first delivery. We work a 4-day week - so we’re looking for someone who’s highly motivated, organised, and confident managing their own workload, time, and priorities.

Focus

This role sits across strategy and delivery, working on a mix of social media projects depending on client need. That might mean leading an influencer campaign end-to-end, managing a cross-service campaign that brings together paid, organic and creative workstreams, developing an audit or strategy, or facilitating a client workshop. You'll build strong relationships with the clients you work with, collaborate closely with colleagues across the agency, and bring the same organised, thoughtful approach whatever the project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Develop influencer campaign strategies from client briefs
  • Research content creators, manage budgets, write content briefs, and oversee campaigns from kickoff to wrap report
  • Plan and manage cross-service campaigns that bring together paid, organic, creative, and/or workshop elements - coordinating across internal teams and external partners
  • Handle all campaign admin, stakeholder communications, and project documentation to keep delivery on track and on budget
  • Create insightful campaign reports with clear learnings and recommendations
  • Support or lead delivery of social media audits - data collection, analysis, competitor research
  • Develop strategic recommendations, KPIs, and tactical plans
  • Create or contribute to strategy documentation and playbooks for clients
  • Plan, prepare, and facilitate client workshops and brainstorms - both online and in-person across the UK - managing logistics, materials, and outputs
  • Translate audience insights and research into actionable content and strategic ideas
  • Keep up with platform changes, best practices, and sector trends to inform your work

Internal & Client Support

  • Collaborate with paid and organic teams to ensure integrated, joined-up delivery
  • Contribute to Social for Good's own content and knowledge-sharing efforts
  • Identify and communicate upsell opportunities or service enhancements
  • Support junior team members or interns when relevant

Performance measures

  • Delivery of high-quality strategic plans that meet client objectives
  • Delivery of successful influencer campaigns that hit campaign targets
  • Effective collaboration with team members across service areas
  • Contribution to agency growth through process improvements, content ideas, or upselling opportunities

Decision-making Authority

  • Develops social media strategies, audits, campaign plans, and strategic recommendations, with ownership of research, analysis, and first-draft delivery - all progressed to Head of Strategy for final sign-off
  • Manages day-to-day campaign and project decisions independently, escalating to Head of Strategy where strategic direction or support is needed
  • Represents the agency in client meetings, with responsibility for communicating progress, challenges, and suggestions for content or strategy improvements
  • Identifies and flags opportunities to enhance client performance or experience, contributing to internal conversations around service development

Is this you?

You don't need a full brief to start thinking strategically. You can walk out of a client meeting with a clear sense of what they need, what their audience will respond to, and what good looks like - and turn that into a plan. You've got experience working in social media and you genuinely get it - the platforms, the content, the strategy behind it. You know what's working right now, you keep up with how things are shifting, and you understand the creator landscape. Beyond that, you bring strong research skills, excellent communication with clients and colleagues, and the project management ability to keep complex, multi-workstream projects on track. You're ready to go deeper and take on more.

Spots the content angle or campaign hook before the workshop has even finished

Can hold the big strategic picture and the granular project detail at the same time - with the attention to detail to make sure nothing slips through

Is highly organised and methodical - juggling multiple projects, workstreams, and clients without dropping the ball on admin, documentation, or delivery

Switches gears easily between a complex campaign and a tight focused strategy

Analyses performance data and uses it to make better decisions, not just fill a report

Writes compelling copy and adapts comfortably to each client's brand guidelines, voice, and communication style

Can facilitate a workshop - online or IRL - and make it feel purposeful and well‑run

Communicates clearly and confidently, whether that's presenting strategy to a client, managing a relationship through a tricky moment, or flagging something early to the team

Is self‑motivated and collaborative in equal measure - you manage your own workflow well, and you're a good person to have on a project

Knows their way around Canva, Excel, Sprout Social or similar reporting and planning tools. Experience working with Slack and Productive is a bonus.

Genuinely cares about the work - and about the organisations you're doing it for.

At Social for Good, we empower purpose-driven organisations to amplify and measure their impact through ethical and strategic social media. You’ll be part of and supported by a friendly and inclusive team who are passionate about creating meaningful change in the world.
