The Role
Social Work England is the specialist regulator for social work in England. The regulation directorate is critical to the statutory functions of the organisation and it is an important way that we meet our overarching objective to protect the public.
You will work across the fitness to practise team with a particular focus on supporting the management of our contract with our external legal provider, supporting our quality assurance and performance reporting activities and the collation and sharing of learning across the fitness to practise team.
What you will do
- Manage shared email mailboxes, systems and other workflow tools to ensure that instructions are provided to our external legal provider in a timely and efficient way and in line with agreed targets and response times.
- Support the provision of timely and accurate performance and quality reporting.
- Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the fitness to practise function’s quality assurance activities, for example our decision review group.
- Collate learning from a range of sources of quality-related information and support the sharing of this across the fitness to practise team.
- Prepare written responses to internal/external enquiries in a timely way, ensuring they are clear, accurate and tailored to the needs of their audience.
- Liaise with stakeholders and colleagues; share information and support and participate in working groups and meetings, including arranging meetings and taking minutes.
- Support conferences, meetings or training events including bookings, arranging travel and accommodation, and taking on a first point of contact or facilitating role, as required.
- Work flexibly to accommodate peak periods within the team and adapt to changing demands in service delivery to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided to the wider organisation.
- Provide administrative support as required across the fitness to practise function.
Your Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Previous experience of working in a similar administrative role would be desirable.
- Previous experience of working with MS Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal skills – able to communicate clearly and effectively with others and influence positive changes.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work using your own initiative, investigate issues and be proactive in seeking solutions.
- Ability to manage a varied workload effectively and to work to agreed deadlines.
- A strong team player, able to develop effective relationships across the organisation.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
