We are hiring to ensure every hand-raiser gets a timely, human response as Social Value Portal continues to scale. Purpose-led work, hybrid or remote flexibility, clear progression and up to £30,000 salary.

Social Value Portal exists to make social value measurable, meaningful and impactful. Since 2014, we have become the UK market leader in social value measurement and reporting, helping organisations across the public, private and voluntary sectors turn good intentions into real-world outcomes for people, places and the planet.

As demand continues to grow in the UK and internationally, we are investing in our commercial engine - and that’s where this role comes in.

The Role: We are looking for a Marketing Development Representative (MDR) to sit at the heart of our marketing and sales function, owning the first human touchpoint for people who have already shown interest in Social Value Portal. This is not a cold-calling role. You will be working with inbound leads - people who have downloaded content, attended events or actively raised their hand - ensuring they are contacted promptly, thoughtfully and professionally, and booked into discovery calls with the right sales colleagues.

It’s a great opportunity for someone early in their commercial career who enjoys speaking to people, values quality over volume, and wants exposure to both marketing and sales in a fast-growing, purpose-led organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for inbound leads from marketing campaigns, content and events
  • Qualifying interest against clear criteria and booking discovery calls into sales diaries
  • Managing Outreach sequences to ensure timely, relevant follow-up
  • Keeping CRM data accurate and well-maintained so marketing and sales can work effectively together
  • Collaborating closely with sales to ensure smooth handovers and shared pipeline goals
  • Feeding insights back to marketing on lead quality, messaging and campaign performance
  • Supporting webinar and event follow-up activity

You’ll have ownership of this process, with support from experienced marketing and sales leaders - and the space to develop confidence, autonomy and commercial judgement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Around 1-2 years experience in a related role (MDR, SDR, BDR, Marketing Assistant, Sales Ops or similar)
  • Someone personable, confident and comfortable engaging people by email, LinkedIn and phone
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, particularly when working with CRM systems and sequences
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach.io or LinkedIn Sales Navigator is helpful but not essential - we care more about attitude, curiosity and potential.

Why Join Social Value Portal:

This is a role where your work genuinely matters. Every conversation you book helps organisations create real social, environmental and economic impact. In return, we offer:

  • Salary up to £30,000
  • Full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week)
  • Hybrid or remote working (London office available; in-office onboarding encouraged for the first few weeks)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, plus your birthday off
  • 6 paid volunteering days per year
  • Private medical insurance, life assurance and wellbeing support
  • Ethically invested pension (matched up to 5%)
  • Access to accredited learning and development
  • A clear progression pathway into sales development, demand generation or account management

Most importantly, you’ll join a collaborative, inclusive organisation where different perspectives are valued and people are supported to grow.

Our Commitment to Inclusion: We’re committed to building a representative and inclusive team. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and lived experiences and actively encourage candidates who may not meet every requirement to apply.
